Where do I start… when I heard that my employer was sending me on a leadership development course, I had visons of too many PowerPoint slides and generally being talked at for too long.
I was very wrong with this one.
The first bit of good news was that the course was being led by Jamie Peacock – I will admit it, I have watched the super league and followed Great Britain over the years, so was definitely a bit of a fanboy. First box ticked.
After meeting Jamie – I was really impressed with both him and the way the course was structured. This course is definitely not death by PowerPoint. All of the sessions are engaging and required me to take a hard look at my leadership skills and traits from the ground up. I particularly liked the way that areas which needed improvement were identified straight out and no messing about or sugar-coating things. Honest content – second box ticked.
A consistent theme throughout the course was to utilise the journal included in the book provided by Jamie… I would urge anyone taking part in the course to use the journal as often as you can to document the challenges you will set yourself and report on progress – the good, the bad, pack it all in there, as it’s a great anchor and point of reference as you progress. No overly complicated homework – third box ticked.
This is one of the few courses which I am actually still using the development tips long after it ended – in fact, several of the cohort are still meeting regularly to set out leadership targets and actively supporting each other as we work to improve ourselves and our leaderships capabilities. Real-life usable content – final box ticked.

We engaged Jamie to deliver a presentation to our members on the theme of Leadership and the role of Leadership in the Community. The feedback that we have had from the event has been astounding, and without doubt the most positive that we have seen for a long long time. Jamie scored 100% from our formal feedback process in terms of content, his presentational style and for the event overall.
Not only were the audience enthralled from start to finish, but many have been inspired or motivated to take on board the key lessons from Jamie’s presentation to make positive differences to their work or personal lives.
Besides working closely with us to ensure that the content of his presentation hit our brief and was relevant to our audience, Jamie was a joy to work with in terms of assisting with the arrangements to ensure that everything ran as smoothly as possible on the day. He also spent time with our members before and after the event – taking the time to chat to people etc.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Jamie for a motivational talk or keynote speech.

We were over the moon with the wellbeing session which was provided by Jamie. We are a property advisory business and were looking to host an event for clients and friends which gave something back and broke from the norm of ‘run of the mill’ corporate events.
We had an excellent take up from our client base with all of the feedback both on the day and subsequently being very positive. Jamie was extremely professional to deal with and did exactly what he said he would do to.
The session was more interactive than I imagined and worked extremely well on the day. We would have no hesitation in working with Jamie again and accordingly would thoroughly endorse the session for other professional organisations.

Wow, wow, wow! Jamie took things back to basics but with impact, and really made the session interactive and enabled a good reflection! It was really the reminder I needed to prioritise my bodies needs to encourage positive and healthy change in my routine to succeed. Can’t wait to take on the 30-day programme and see the change.

Jamie came to deliver a talk during our wellbeing week in our office. Jamie shared with us how he maintained and sustained his wellbeing even when life throws you challenges, and Jamie gave us tips on how we can make achievable changes which will positively impact our overall wellbeing. The session was really engaging and as a group we shared ideas with one another about how we could focus on our wellbeing. Jamie also shared with each of us a copy of his 30 days wellbeing programme which we are excited to complete. I highly recommend Jamie’s talk on wellbeing, I learnt a lot and I have started to make small changes which will make a big overall impact.
